DV Drama to Announce 2014 Musical

Sunday, July 21, the DV Drama Club will announce the musical chosen for the spring of 2014. 
The show will be posted on www.dvdramaclub.blogspot.com and the club's Facebook page, DV Drama. More information about the first club meeting, fall projects, workshops, and other theater productions will appear the beginning of August. 
Take a look on FB tonight to find hints about the what show has been chosen. The answer will be posted at noon Sunday.

TEA WITH BELLE

The DV Drama Booster Club is holding a fundraiser on April 7th @ The Riverview Inn. "TEA WITH BELLE" includes visit time with Belle and cast members, tea and snacks, pictures, and videos. There will be 2 seatings, 12:30 and 2:00. Tickets are $10 in advance, $13 at the door. Adults accompanying children are free. SHOWCASE 2013

On Friday, January 25th @ 7:00, members of the DVHS Drama Club will present an evening of song and dance in the Delaware Valley High School auditorium. SHOWCASE 2013 will feature members of the club, who will be appearing in the school's spring musical BEAUTY AND THE BEAST this April.  Popular, cabaret, and Broadway songs will be offered as solos, duets, ensemble pieces and company numbers. Dance routines by individuals and small groups are also a part of the program.
All proceeds from the evening will help fund the spring production.
Join the talented and enthusiastic students, who are DV Drama, on the 25th, for a delightful and entertaining evening. Thank you for supporting the arts in your community.

Auditions for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Announced

The DV Drama Club will be holding auditions for the spring musical, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, on Saturday, January 12, 2013, in the Delaware Valley High School auditorium. There will be two sessions, one from 9:00-12:00, the other from 1:00-4:00. You can sign up on the Drama Board, located across from the HS chorus room. Please see details on this page for audition requirements.

Audition Requirements

There will be two audition sessions held on Saturday, January 12, 2013. The first is from 9:00-12:00, the second from 1:00-4:00. Please sign up for one session on the Drama Board, located across the hall from the HS chorus room. 

Dance auditions will be held first. Please be ready to work at 9:00 or 1:00, depending on your session. Be dressed appropriately. If you do not have dance clothing or shoes, wear loose fitting clothes that allow you to move. Leather-soled shoes or light sneakers will work.

 Everyone will be taught a combination, given time to practice, and then dance in group of three for the directors.

When you sign up upon arrival, you will be given a number. After dance auditions, vocal auditions will be done in numerical order, individually, in the chorus room.

 

If you have a particular role in which you are interested, prepare a song that character sings.

 If you have no preference, be prepared to sing Be Our Guest.

 It will not be necessary for you to provide sheet music. Be aware that the songs from the Broadway show and the songs from the movie are slightly different. Listen to the Broadway cast recording when learning the pieces.

Welcome to the DV Drama Club website. We are a High School theater program at Delaware Valley High School in Milford, PA. All students are invited to attend our weekly meetings on Mondays from 3:00-4:30. There we offer workshops in auditioning, theater dance, and acting techniques. We play theater games and work on projects to perform publicly during the fall. In the spring, we present a school wide Broadway musical. This year, we are very proud and excited to announce the 2013 production will be Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. More on that later.
